The CoD2 Server went down tonight at ~10:15pm EST at the end of a very hectic Toujane map, and ...... well, the server is already back up.
But, I'm wondering if there's anyway to re-start the server without having to bother Quick, Mess, or Commando.
Woo and I both tried our "hacking" skills out, to no avail.
In my case I input the rcon password via the /rcon_password console command, and some other permutations thereof, and re-joined the stalled server. No luck. I also tried inputing /rcon commands like "End Map," "re-start," etc, then joining the server.
Is there some rcon scripting that does a "re-start" or "End Map," and could be shared with the appropriate people?
Or would it require a Telnet or HyperTerminal session with the appropriate commands? (which I used to do for 2 servers back in the 2000-2001).
No worries if it's all too much hassle --- I understand the sensitivity ,,, and after all, the server was back up after about 10-15 minutes.
Ever Curious, F
P.S. I Googled rcon commands months ago but never found a site that explains commands and other workings --- just general summaries of what rcon does, w/o any specifics.
P.S.S. Is there specific language (or mouse-clicks) which allows you to load the non-stock maps? All I'm able to do is select the stock maps listed after you click on the "Maps" menu item.
